Efforts Are Nothing If You are Not the Person They Want
You can love someone with your whole soul, pour your heart into every moment, stay loyal when the world tells you to walk away, and still not be enough.
Not because you lack effort. Not because your love is incomplete. But simply because you're not the one they truly want, no matter how much they say they do.
I gave my all. Quietly. Consistently. In ways no one ever saw. Not for recognition, not for reward, just because I believed.
But love doesn’t always echo back. You can give everything you have, your time, your energy, your presence. You can show up even when you're breaking, stay when it's easier to run, and hold on when everyone else would’ve let go.
And still, it might not matter. Not because you didn’t try. But because you're not the person they truly want.
I’ve had nights where everything was falling apart. Days when even breathing felt like effort. And in those moments, when I needed someone the most, I was standing alone.
I kept it all together in front of the world, while I was quietly shattering inside. I didn’t ask for much, just for someone to be there. But sometimes, the person you expect to stay becomes the first one to walk away.
Still, I remained. Maybe out of habit. Maybe out of hope. Or maybe because somewhere deep down, I thought things would go back to how they used to be.
Now, even when we speak, I feel like a stranger. Like I’m watching something die slowly, and I can’t save it.
But I keep showing up. I keep trying. Even when I know it’s not enough. Even when I feel like I’m invisible.
Because at the end of it all, one truth stays with me:
Efforts mean nothing when you're not the person they want.
Until next time,
